Loudoun County’s premier multi-sport facility, Evergreen Sportsplex, has been acquired by Revolution Investments LLC. Revolution Investments stated goal is to support the growth of Virginia Revolution Soccer Club and to advance the level of soccer investment in Northern Virginia. “We are not aware of any similar investment of this size for the benefit of a youth soccer club in the Metro D.C. area. It is our hope that other clubs will seek similar funding and that the overall level of soccer in the region will be elevated across the board.” says Jim Miller, managing partner of Revolution Investments. Virginia Revolution Soccer Club’s Founder & Technical Director Niko Eckart believes that with this investment in the new Virginia Revolution Sportsplex facility that VRSC will be able to not only continue to attract new young players and coaches but allow it to grow without limitation. “For Virginia Revolution, the Sportsplex is an amazing opportunity that only comes around once in a lifetime. We are looking forward to taking full advantage of it and promoting the growth of Virginia Revolution, youth sports, and sports tourism in Loudoun County.” Virginia Revolution Sportsplex plans to continue to operate as a multi-sport facility supporting soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, football, and other similar sports.

Virginia Revolution was formed by Niko Eckart in 2018 with a mission to create a club with a community culture that he felt was missing in NoVA sports. The long-term goal being to inspire youth to remain active in sports throughout their teen years, and live more healthy, fulfilling, and well-rounded lives as a result. Eckart believes that players thrive in positive environment where all ages and abilities can develop technical skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal connections. “The Sportsplex acquisition is fundamental in uniting our teams and programs in one geographic location and truly creating a community environment.” says Eckart.

Evergreen Sportsplex was developed in 2014 by a private investment group to expand the facilities available to sports teams in Loudoun County, Virginia. The facility is approximately 37 acres and consists of four newly renovated lighted turf fields. Since its opening, it has supported soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, football, and other field sports.

The terms of the deal were not made public.
